Two Years Later: Puerto Rico & Santa Barbara ECOLOGICAL CRISIS, ECONOMIC AUSTERITY, AND BUILDING SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES. Oscar López Rivera, Puerto Rican activist, former political prisoner, decorated Viet Nam war veteran, artist and author; with Marcus Lopez, Chumash elder, radio programmer, and activist; and Ana Rosa Rizo Centino, Food and Water Watch and La Casa de la Raza; in a community discussion tying the catastrophic changes in climate to the hurricanes in Puerto Rico and Mudslides in Montecito.
There will be food for sale starting at 6 PM, program at 6:30 PM. There will be book sales and a book signing of Oscar López Rivera’s books, Between Torture and Resistance and Cartas a Carina.
There will be interpreters for English to Spanish and Spanish to English.
