An Exhibit of Landscapes May 1 – 31 at Gallery Los Olivos

Out and About

Artists who paint outdoors together know that they might stand close to their colleagues, but their results will look totally different. 

That’s why three award-winning Santa Barbra artists will display the results of painting en plein air solo and  “together” in a landscapes exhibit from May 1 to 31 at Gallery Los Olivos.

The featured exhibit, “Out and About,” showcases paintings by Terri Taber, Carol Talley, and Morgan Green in pastel and oil. It includes works from throughout the Central Coast and California, including iconic local landscapes, and pockets of beauty off the beaten track.

The trio demonstrates their distinct individual styles, color preferences, choices of subjects, and personal interpretations. Their works are mostly in medium to small formats. 

“We can stand side-by-side looking at a range of mountains and foothills or a stretch of coastline. But we each come up with a completely unique scene,” said Green. 

For instance Taber loves etherial forms such as skies and delicate stands of wildflowers. Talley stresses color to inject expressive energy into abstracted scenes. Green especially likes subtle mountain shadows and moving water.

All three have earned local, regional or national professional honors, and have studied under celebrated artistic mentors. Each artist will be on hand at the gallery to personally greet visitors during the exhibit: Carol Talley on May 21; Terri Taber on May 9; and Morgan Green on May 16.
