The Santa Barbara County Department of Behavioral Wellness invites you to participate in a free, life saving QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) training webinar designed to increase awareness about suicide, reduce stigma, and empower individuals to take action.
What is QPR?
QPR is a proven suicide prevention program that teaches participants how to recognize the signs of suicidal thoughts, engage in compassionate conversations, and connect individuals with the help they need.
What You’ll Learn:
How to recognize the warning signs of suicide
Common myths and facts about suicide
Effective ways to ask about someone’s intentions with care and confidence
How to offer hope and encourage seeking professional support
Key resources for crisis intervention and suicide prevention
Who Should Attend?
Anyone can become a QPR Gatekeeper, a person trained to recognize and respond to someone in crisis. This includes parents, teachers, youth, faith leaders, first responders, healthcare providers, mental health professionals, and community members.
