You are invited to be part of a special edition of the annual Reunir with the California Rangeland Trust celebration in Santa Barbara!
Last year, the Rangeland Trust completed work on a documentary film that shares the stories of ranchers and cowboys with new audiences. The film, You Just Can’t See Them From the Road, has since garnered numerous film festival awards, including Best Documentary, Best Director, and People’s Choice. When: Thursday, March 6, 2025 | Doors open at 5:30. Movie begins at 6:00 pm.
Where: Lobero Theatre, 33 E Canon Perdido St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101
Who: This is a public event which will be promoted in local media outlets. We expect an audience of at least 250-300 people. The majority of guests will likely be friends of the Rangeland Trust, which in the past has included about 200 local ranchers, farmers, conservationists, community leaders, and western-lifestyle enthusiasts.
What: The 1-hour film will be followed by a Q&A and a reception featuring drinks and appetizers for those who want to talk about the film with members of the organization. We will also enjoy a reading from the recently published Roots & Resilience essay collection, featuring some Santa Barbara ranchers. This is a celebration of ranching and conservation in the region, with opportunities to meet with like-minded “neighbors” while connecting with an organization that is preserving our open spaces for future generations.
