Santa Barbara Channelkeeper’s 2025 Blue Water Ball Celebrates the Channel’s Rich Marine Life with Underwater Filmmakers Howard and Michele Hall
Santa Barbara Channelkeeper is pleased to host the 23rd annual Blue Water Ball on March 29th at the seaside Cabrillo Pavilion.
At this year’s celebration, the organization is delighted to present Emmy Award-winning filmmakers Howard and Michele Hall, who specialize in underwater natural history productions for television and the giant screen. The acclaimed filmmakers have produced more than a dozen films shot entirely or partially in the Channel Islands. Their presentation, “Into the Channel,” will include dazzling visuals and firsthand accounts of their underwater explorations, highlighting the interconnectedness of species.
The event will be emceed by Santa Barbara luminary Geoff Green and include a welcome from Chumash leaders Art Cisneros and Mia Lopez. The evening will also include a multi-course dinner, local wines and brews, live music, a fun raffle, and exciting auctions for art, gear, outdoor adventures, and more.
Channelkeeper works to protect and restore the Santa Barbara Channel and its watersheds through science-based advocacy, education, fieldwork, and enforcement. The Blue Water Ball raises critical funds that make it possible for Santa Barbara Channelkeeper to protect our beaches, creeks, and coast, and defend your right to clean water and healthy habitats. Each year, Channelkeeper’s annual fundraiser and premier social gathering brings together ocean enthusiasts and activists, civic leaders, business owners, and public officials for a lively and memorable evening. The public is invited to raise a glass to clean water, healthy habitats, abundant wildlife, and thriving communities and learn about the exciting initiatives Channelkeeper has on the horizon.
