Santa Barbara Hillel is proud to honor six outstanding individuals for their exceptional devotion to the community on May 11th at the 18th Annual Hall of Fame Celebration. Belinda & Steve Zola and Mitch Stark will be inducted into the Hillel Hall of Fame, and Janet & Harvey Wolf will receive the Alumni Achievement Award.
Belinda and Steve Zola have both served on the board of Santa Barbara Hillel, and Belinda just completed a five-year term. Their collective and individual generosity, skills and talents shine through in their active involvement with several organizations in Santa Barbara, and they are most gracious hosts to many wonderful Hillel events. Mitch Stark has served on the board of Santa Barbara Hillel for 25 years. He is a graduate of UCSB and works as a real estate agent in Santa Barbara. He is an enthusiastic and devoted volunteer to Hillel and its students. Janet and Harvey Wolf are dedicated public servants. Janet recently retired from the County Board of Supervisors, and previously served on the Goleta School board. Harvey practiced law for 40 years, serving Santa Barbara with his expertise. Both have recently retired and are thrilled to spend more time with their grandchildren. Each of our honorees is committed to Jewish learning, leadership and community.
This festive event will begin with pre-reception with our honorees, followed by a program focused on Hillel’s mission and its students. Rabbi Evan Goodman, Executive Director of Santa Barbara Hillel, will speak about Hillel, honorees will share their own stories, and students will offer touching testimonials of how Santa Barbara Hillel has impacted their life. Please save the date of Tuesday, May, 2021. The pre-reception will be at 6:15 PM and the main event at 7:00 PM. Both events will take place on zoom.
