SANTA BARBARA REVELS HARBOR SING
A Favorite Fall Tradition!
Santa Barbara, CA — Cast off for some music and merriment with Santa Barbara Revels and our Harbor Sing! Returning by popular demand, this year’s event takes place on Sunday, October 15th at 5:00pm aboard the Condor Express, departing from 301 West Cabrillo Boulevard, Santa Barbara Harbor. Following in the tradition of Revels’ popular Pub Sings, in which anyone and everyone is invited to join in some rollicking music-making, the Harbor Sing is designed for singing, clapping, and laughing, as we highlight traditional tunes and sea shanties, plus everyone’s Irish favorites, in anticipation of this year’s The Revels: A Winter Solstice Celebration – “Tales from Ellis Island.” The festivities are under the able and enthusiastic direction of Revels Music Director Mica Basilici, with instrumental accompaniment by Guest Artist Josh Jenkins. Light snacks will be provided, and a no host bar is available.
As we settle into Fall and look toward Winter, Santa Barbara Revels encourages everyone to celebrate the changing seasons. Our Harbor Sing helps to set the stage for our upcoming Winter Solstice show, playing at the Lobero Theatre on December 16th through 17th, which tells the story of a group of immigrants are stranded when they enter the New World via Ellis Island. Folks from Ireland, Germany, and Russia, along with their Mexican medical team, must spend the night together. During this time, they acknowledge their differences but discover even more shared values. This 16th annual show from Santa Barbara Revels is filled with Irish, Jewish, and Mexican music, dance and storytelling, and promises to be lively and engaging entertainment.
