Santa Barbara Black Culture House, a pop up events space celebrating Black arts, culture and history, returns for Black History Month (February) 2025 at the Santa Barbara Public Library Central Library for a screening of the award-winning documentary “Chisholm ’72: Unbought & Unbossed.” The film covers the revolutionary Presidential candidacy of Brooklyn’s Shirley Chisholm, first Black woman elected to Congress, and her independent run for President.
This screening will be in the Faulkner Gallery. It’s open to all and FREE to the public. Santa Barbara Black Culture House is made possible by a grant from Santa Barbara Office of Arts and Culture in partnership with the Black Rock Coalition, Soul Bites, Santa Barbara Public Library and Chaucer’s Bookstore.
