The Santa Barbara Jazz Society welcomes the Idiomatiques to the SOhO stage on Sunday, November 12 from 1 to 4pm. The Idiomatiques are a modern Gypsy Jazz quartet performing music in the spirit of Django Reinhardt with an emphasis on original compositions. The band was spawned in 2013 by guitarist/composer Craig Sharmat and have played throughout Santa Barbara, Ventura, San Luis Obispo and Los Angeles counties over the past decade. They are the only Gypsy Jazz artists to break into the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Top 30 with their tune “C’est La Vie” spending 11 weeks on the charts. The bands current lineup consists of guitarists Craig Sharmat and Ray Bergstrom, Kim Collins on bass, and accordionist Frank Petrilli. An Idiomatiques show is filled with great musicianship, diverse programing, and humor. Please join us for an afternoon of delightful music!
Regular admission to the event is $20 for SB Jazz Society and Blues Society members, $10 for professional jazz musicians and singers and full time students with membership and $25 for non-members. We now accept credit cards for added convenience. Doors open at 12:30 and seating is limited, so plan to arrive early.
