Special Event for Caregivers

Nansie Chapman Douglas will talk about her experience caregiving her brother for more than 30 years after her suffered a traumatic brain injury leaving him in a coma for three months and share her new memoir: When the Road Ends Love Builds a New One.

Her memoir begins with a devastating phone call: While working in Borneo, the author’s older brother, John, suffers a catastrophic traumatic brain injury in a devastating automobile accident. Overnight, Douglas is transformed from sister into caregiver, advocate, emotional anchor, and steadfast source of hope.
