Special Screening: The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking

The American Scandinavian Foundation of Santa Barbara invites you to a delightful celebration of Scandinavian culture at the Alcazar Theatre on March 8. Join us for a special screening of the beloved family film The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking. Doors open at 2:30 PM, and the movie starts at 3:00 PM.

Join us as we embark on a whimsical journey with Pippi Longstocking, who, after a storm separates her from her father, finds herself in a series of exciting adventures with her horse, Alfonso, and monkey, Mr. Nilsson, as well as new friends Tommy and Annika. Together, they tackle challenges with creativity and humor, exemplifying Pippi’s spirited character.

2025 marks Pippi Longstocking’s 80th birthday, and we invite everyone to join the festivities and “BE MORE PIPPI!” This themed event encourages guests to embrace freedom, strength, kindness, courage, and justice. Attendees are invited to walk down the red carpet in their best Pippi-themed costumes to win 1st and 2nd place prizes for the Best Costume.

This event is not just about enjoying a classic film; a portion of the proceeds will benefit ASFSB Scholarships for the Santa Barbara County community, making it a meaningful experience for all attendees. Tickets are priced at $7 and available online or at the door 30 minutes before the showing.
