Saturday, June 24th:
Chenrezi Initiation, 9 am arrival – 12 pm
Lunch Break–vegetarian lunch included
Chenrezi Phowa Transmission, 2:30 – 4:30 pm
Sunday, June 25th:
Padmasambhava Life Empowerment, 9 am arrival – 12 pm
Pre-Registration is required: seating is limited, and open to first participants to register.
Weekend Retreat: Suggested Donation $175 (or $60/session) ~ no one will be turned away for lack of funds
Requirement: vegetarian diet (no eggs) for full 2 days of retreat

Four-Armed Chenrezi Initiation: Through the meditation on Chenrezi ( A v a l okiteshvara), one develops loving kindness, compassion, and bodhicitta. Buddha taught that “love” is the wish for all beings to experience happiness, that “compassion” is the aspiration that they be free from all suffering, and that “bodhicitta” is the mind dedicated to attaining enlightenment for the benefit for all beings. Rinpoche will bestow this initiation.
Chenrezi Phowa Transmission & Teaching: Phowa occurs at the time of death; it is the transference of consciousness to Potala, the Pure Land. There are two types of phowa practices: Death Phowa performed on behalf of the deceased, and Life Phowa which prepares us for the moment of our own death. We can effectively perform these beneficial practices, if we are sincere and have unwavering faith that the guru is inseparable from Chenrezi. Rinpoche will bestow the transmission and give instructions on how to do the practices.
Padmasambhava Life Empowerment: Rinpoche will bestow the special long-life empowerment from the “Butön Gongkhugma”, a terma (hidden treasure teaching) from Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) that is regarded as very powerful for life-enhancement, that has become a specialty of the Sakya lineage.
