Tea Tasting & Story Circle – The Third Sunday Gathering
Clarity, Depth, and Fire: A Journey Through Chinese & Taiwanese Red Tea

A Tea Tasting & Story Circle is a relaxed, embodied mindfulness gathering for up to 7 guests. Each month, we explore premium East Asian teas through scent, color, texture, and presence, allowing experience to unfold through the body.

This May, we gather with three red teas (known as black tea in the West), each shaped by place, history, and method, and accompanied by pairings.

We begin with Sun Moon Lake Ruby 18 (日月潭红玉) from Taiwan, a hybrid tea developed in the early 20th century, reflecting the island’s layered tea culture.

We then move into Yunnan Da Jin Zhen (滇红大金针), crafted from large-leaf varietals in southwestern China, known for its careful selection of golden buds.

We close with Zhengshan Xiaozhong (正山小种) from the Wuyi Mountains, one of the earliest red teas, rooted in centuries of tea making.

Through gentle storytelling and optional reflection, we notice shifts in breath, sensation, and mood. Silence is equally welcome.
