The 2nd Annual BroBQ

Blending exceptional barbecue, outstanding Santa Barbara County wines, live entertainment, and community spirit, the BroBQ is a one-of-a-kind fundraising event by men to support the talented women shaping local wine and culinary industries while raising vital funds for the Foundation’s educational programs and scholarships.

“It started as friendly teasing over a veggie-only fundraiser dinner. Now the guys are back behind the grill for our 2nd Annual BroBBQ!” laughs Karen Steinwachs, Founder and President of the Foundation. ” Expect barbecued everything from our local GrillMeisters, sauces from Eat Happy Kitchen, an Elote corn and veggie bar, and specially selected wines from Foxen, Samsara and Hitching Post. They are fired up and ‘licensed to grill’.” To add to the enjoyment of the day, local songwriter/singer Ian Cochrane will be playing his latest cowboy/rocker tunes.

Proceeds from the BroBQ directly benefit the Women Winemakers & Culinarians Foundation’s mission to support, educate, and empower women pursuing careers in winemaking, viticulture, culinary arts, hospitality, and related fields through scholarships, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.”BroBQ is more than a great afternoon of food and wine—it’s an investment in the future of our industry,” said Christi Heck, leader of the Mentorship/Scholarship Committee. “Every ticket purchased helps create opportunities for women pursuing careers in wine and culinary arts while celebrating the incredible talent that already exists throughout Santa Barbara County.”

The event brings together the WWCF’s male colleagues for an unforgettable experience that showcases the generosity and collaborative spirit of the Central Coast wine community.
