The Christmas Revels: A Scottish Celebration of the Winter Solstice transports audiences to the mid-1700s during a dark midwinter in the Scottish Highlands. Neighbors gather at the Laird’s great manor-house to celebrate Hogmanay,or New Year’s Eve. Tempers flare as the Clans converge, then subside as the guests mingle, singing much-loved melodies, taking a cup together, dancing lively reels and jigs, relating favorite stories.  Suddenly, an unwelcome visitor appears. A mystery guest is revealed. Finally, a child’s questionselicit a true understanding of the Yuletide.  D’ye ken the pipes, d’ye heed the drums?
