The Dangerous Battle for Reason in India

Campaigning against superstition and defending science and reason is a perilous pursuit in India that can lead to assassination.

The Humanist Society of S.B. presents a presentation by Babu Gogineni, who for the past fifteen years has been active in India promoting science and debunking many charlatans and frauds and fighting witchcraft murders and related violence. His most famous case was when he campaigned for nearly three years and successfully argued a case in the Human Rights Commission to stop the Nobel Laureate Dalai Lama from naming Sambhavi, a child of 6, as a deity in a Buddhist temple and declaring her as the reincarnation of a Buddhist Monk.
