Global warming is one of the most important, and most complex, issues that our scientists, nation, and world face today. Small efforts are no longer enough; big changes are needed to avoid a drastic increase of Earth’s temperatures. But what changes are needed? What is the science behind these bold statements? What is the latest data that scientists are seeing?
William D. Fletcher and Craig B. Smith tackled these and many more questions in their book, Reaching Net Zero: What it Takes to Solve the Global Climate Crisis, which was published in 2020. After experiencing the changes and challenges that resulted from the Covid-19 pandemic, Fletcher and Smith have come together again to issue a second edition, titled The Global Climate Crisis: What to do about it. Both former engineers, Fletcher and Smith bring their considerable expertise to the problem that is plaguing the planet.
Join us in Fleischmann Auditorium at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History for an enlightening discussion with both authors on this second edition of their important work. This is a free, public event. No registration needed.
