Art exhibit and sale benefiting Citizens for the Carpinteria Bluffs.
Continuing their 39-year tradition of promoting the preservation of open spaces through their artwork, the Oak Group is proud to announce their 2025 art show benefiting Citizens for the Carpinteria Bluffs. The organization’s mission is to preserve the Carpinteria Bluffs as open space forever.
A recent proposal by an out-of-town developer to build a large-scale luxury resort on the last 27 acres of privately owned land adjacent to the Carpinteria Bluffs Nature Preserve has sparked concern and significant public opposition. This proposal is incompatible with the Nature Preserve, Harbor Seal Rookery, and the quality of life for the Carpinteria community.
Since its founding in 1996, Citizens for the Carpinteria Bluffs has collaborated with the Land Trust for Santa Barbara County to successfully acquire over 73 acres of Carpinteria Bluffs open space for public enjoyment. Building on this achievement, the Land Trust has recently acquired the Rincon Gateway Parcel, further enhancing this cherished community resource. 45% of sale proceeds from this show will all go to supporting the conservation, stewardship, and acquisition efforts of the Carpinteria Bluffs by Citizens for the Carpinteria Bluffs, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization.
The art exhibit and sale featuring paintings of the Carpinteria Coastline will be held at the Santa Barbara Public Library’s Faulkner Gallery, located at 40 East Anapamu Street in downtown Santa Barbara, and will run from May 1st through May 30th, with gallery hours Monday through Thursday from 10am to 7pm, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday from 12pm to 5pm.
A reception with the artists will take place in the Faulkner Gallery on Thursday, May 1st, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.
The show will also be viewable online from May 1st through June 30th at OakGroup.org and CarpinteriaBluffs.org
