Learn about the benefits of ultralight gear and how to lighten your load. Lighter gear lets you cover miles more easily, whether it’s to take longer treks or experience less wear and tear physically or both.
Join Litehikers Rik Christensen and Paul Cronshaw as they share their expertise around ultralight backpacking and gear. Both Rik and Paul are avid outdoorsmen and have backpacked thousands of miles using ultralight gear. They serve as Volunteer Wilderness Rangers for Los Padres National Forest and have contributed design ideas to ultralight gear manufacturer Gossamer Gear.
This talk is part of the ongoing Wilderness Hiking Speaker Series hosted by the Santa Barbara Public Library. The talks are the third Thursday of the month and feature topics related to hiking, backpacking, and our local natural history.
The next talk in the series is Thursday, April 18th, Helpful and Harmful Plants Every Hiker Needs To Know with Sue Reinhart.
