UCSB Innovation Engine looks at how UC Santa Barbara’s students and faculty shape the tech and business landscape of the Central Coast.
UC Santa Barbara is one of the Central Coast’s most powerful economic engines, generating research, talent, and new companies that shape the region’s tech and business landscape.
This panel brings together leaders of the campus programs that turn that potential into real ventures:
Tal Margalith of OASIS, Sherylle Englander of the California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI), and Dave Adornetto of the Department of Technology Management’s New Venture Program, moderated by Eric Zackrison.
They’ll discuss how discoveries and ideas move from labs, research centers, and classrooms into the market, which technologies and startups are emerging now, and how initiatives across campus, from the Bren School to other university programs, are feeding that pipeline.
The conversation will also explore how founders, investors, and local companies can tap into UCSB’s research, talent, and programs, and what this growth means for the regional economy.
