Virtual Poetry Slam was created in response to the Corona Virus outbreak of 2020 to provide an online venue for Poetry Slam Santa Barbara.
Spoken word poetry plays a vital role in our culture as a powerful means of self-expression. Virtual Poetry Slam has the same elements as a live poetry slam, but you don’t have to leave your house to attend. Poets compete for cash prizes by performing their original poetry for audience members and a live DJ keeps the beats rolling.
This event gives us the opportunity to safely gather in a fun and compelling way as we survive and thrive in challenging times.
