We’ll taste through a porfolio of Brander Vineyard & Winery wines with winemaker Fabian Bravo, have a catered taco lunch, then will have the privilege of a private visit to the Barrel Room Gallery of the Brander Museum of Folk Art!

Winemaker Fabian Bravo has been working at Brander since 2007. After working for Raytheon in Santa Barbara with a degree in Electrical Engineering, he became impassioned with winemaking. After a harvest internship at Siduri Wines, he answered an ad from one of California’s premier sauvignon blanc producers, Fred Brander, who has been renown for his wines since he planted his first estate grapes in 1975. Fred’s first vintage in 1977 won the very first gold medal at a major wine competition of any Santa Barbara County sauvignon blanc.

Fabian earned the title of winemaker in 2013 and has been carefully crafting the 6-8 different sauvignon blanc offerings in any given vintage. Brander sauvignon blancs are known to age well given their high acidity, balanced alcohol, and quality fruit. Other Bordeaux varieties in the Brander portfolio are cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc, sauvignon gris, and semillon. Fabian and his wife also have their own boutique label Casita de Bravo currently producing around 350 cases.

Spots are limited to only 30 attendees. No tickets at the door, reserve here: www.meetup.com/Inside-Wine-Santa-Barbara

Brander Winery utilizes biodynamic and sustainable practices on their estate vineyards in the Los Olivos District AVA, using only natural compounds for fertilizers and pest deterrents and harboring California native shrubs and trees that are drought tolerant and encourage the presence of beneficial insects.

Covid safety: we will mostly be outdoors. Please wear a mask in the gallery in consideration of others.
