Whether you’re a lifelong Buddhist, want to reconnect with your Buddhist roots, or are curious about Buddhism come join the Buddhist Church of Santa Barbara (BCSB)’s monthly gathering.
Join us at our picturesque temple on Santa Barbara’s Eastside every second Saturday of each month at 10am for a Buddhist service that includes moments to quiet the mind, chanting of traditional texts called sutras, and hearing a dharma message from our priest. Dharma dialogue, a low-stakes discussion about various Buddhist topics, takes place at 11:15 over a complimentary lunch. This is a great opportunity for beginners and long-time Buddhists to learn and listen together.
Our monthly gathering is open to all. No RSVP required and ample parking available on-site. This is a free event, but donations are gratefully accepted.
BCSB is part of the 800-year-old Jodo Shinshu tradition of Japanese Pure Land Buddhism and has been rooted in Santa Barbara since 1913.
