World Music Series: Mariachi Las Olas de S.B.

The UCSB Music Department and Multicultural Center invite you to attend a special FREE performance by Mariachi Las Olas De SB! As part of the UCSB World Music Series, Mariachi Las Olas de SB will perform on Wednesday, October 23rd at 12 pm at the UCSB Music Bowl. Dia de los Muertos/Day of the Dead (November 2nd) is celebrated widely throughout most of Northern America and Latin America with the community and private remembrances of loved ones that have passed on. Altars are created in their honor that consist of the deceased’s favorite personal articles, food, flowers, and music. Led by Juan Zaragoza, Mariachi Las Olas de SB will take you on a sonic journey with some of the music heard throughout homes and gravesites during this cultural celebration.
