Dive into World Oceans Day 2024! To celebrate, the Sea Center on Stearns Wharf will be free of charge all day, made possible with the generous support of the UCSB Associated Students Coastal Fund and the Stearns Wharf Merchants Association.

Join us for a day filled with oceanic wonder and stewardship, as we come together to discover how we can cherish our precious oceans. From 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, meet an array of community partners dedicated to ocean conservation and celebration, including Santa Barbara ChannelkeeperCalifornia State ParksUCSB’s Caselle LabThe Fish Reef ProjectChannel Islands Naturalist CorpsChannel Islands Marine and Wildlife InstituteSanta Barbara Channel Whale Heritage AreaChannel Islands Restoration, and Celebration Cruises. From 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, experience the Sea Center’s interactive exhibits for free.

Scheduled Event Highlights

– 11:00 AM Storytime for little ones, featuring tales of ocean adventures and conservation and a special apperance by Toothy the Shark
– 1:00 PM Announcement of winners of our art contest showcasing the creative talents of students from across the county, depicting visions of a healthy ocean. Each grade category champion will receive a sea-themed prize.
– 2:00 PM Storytime for little ones, featuring tales of ocean adventures and conservation and a special apperance by Toothy the Shark
– 3:00 PM Harbor Patrol Fireboat Display
