Wynton Marsalis returns with a flexible and joyous septet. This group is the size the trumpeter chose for his thrilling 2021 release, The Democracy! Suite, and on 2000’s epic eight-CD set Live at the Village Vanguard. In the septet format, Marsalis explores a big band’s sumptuous harmonies while offering every ensemble musician plenty of room to stretch out.
