WHY SHOULD YOU AUDITION FOR THE PROM?
Because at Youthclusive, you’re not just joining a show – you’re joining a free, inclusive, youth-led performing arts community where you can create, lead, belong, and make a real impact.
Youthclusive was founded by young people who were tired of seeing theatre limited by cost, typecasting, gatekeeping, and narrow ideas about who belongs. We charge no participation fees, use no waitlists, and expand when more youth show up. Auditions help us match people with roles—they do not decide whether you deserve a place in our company.
✨ Perform onstage as an actor, singer, or dancer
🎬 Lead the production through directing, choreography, music, casting, and stage management
🎨 Create backstage through costumes, sets, props, sound, lighting, media, marketing, front of house, and the control room
🤝 Build community alongside youth with different identities, abilities, backgrounds, experiences, and interests
📚 Develop college-ready experience through sustained leadership, collaboration, responsibility, problem-solving, and service
Youth leaders and production team members also earn verified community service hours through meaningful work. These experiences can strengthen college applications by showing initiative, creative leadership, commitment, teamwork, and measurable community impact. They also give you real stories to share in essays, interviews, portfolios, and recommendation letters.
And The Prom could not be a better Youthclusive show. It is joyful, bold, hilarious, and built around the idea that every young person deserves to be seen, celebrated, and free to be exactly who they are.
💥 You do not need prior experience.
💥 You do not need to fit a “type.”
💥 You do not need to choose between performing and leading—many Youthclusive members do both.
Inclusion is our superpower. Every role is open. Every difference is celebrated. Youth run the show.
📣 Audition for The Prom and find your place—onstage, backstage, in the pit, at front of house, or in the control room.
