November 15, 2022 (San Luis Obispo, CA) – The San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden, (SLOBG), announces Holiday Pet Parade in collaboration with Woods Humane Society, led by Jolly Old Saint Nick on December 4, 2022. Leashed and friendly dogs are welcome to walk in the Pet Parade from El Chorro Dog Park to SLO Botanical Garden on December 4th at 4 pm. This event is in addition to the season-long extravaganza, Nature Nights, a holiday light and art exhibit for the entire family, going from November 11, 2022, through January 8, 2023. Tickets are not required for the pet parade; however, tickets for Nature Nights can be purchased online at my805tix.com.

Paradise Kitchen is preparing meals including smoked tri-tip sandwiches, roasted chicken caesar wraps, portobello mushroom burgers, and grilled shrimp skewers, to name a few. For the kiddos, the kids’ menu features smaller-scale items such as pizza, pretzels, and nachos.  Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy shaved ice, churros, and ice cream. Hot chocolate and warm apple cider are perfect for those colder evenings.

For wine aficionados,  local wineries will be featured each week. November 17-20 will feature  J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines; November 25-17 is Asuncion Ridge Vineyards; December 1-4 is CASS Winery;  December 8-11 is Glunz Family Winery & Cellars; December 15-18 is Castoro Cellars, and January 5-8 is Dunites Wine Company. For those who prefer a cold beer, Firestone Walker Brewing Company will be served each week of the ongoing festivities. The Botanical Garden gift shop and nursery offers local art, wearables, and drought tolerant plants perfect for holiday gifts.

The San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden is located midway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Direct flights to the region, railway, and Hwys 101 & 1, coupled with ample accommodations make access to Nature Nights easy and an exceptional reason for a holiday getaway to the Central Coast.
