Edward G. Delmore, 87, died at home in the care of his loving family on Sunday evening, June 8, 2008. He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts to Patrick and Sarah Louise Delmore. He was a decorated combat veteran of WWII, having seen action in the European theatre.

Eddie was a “class act” who loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was known and appreciated for his quick wit, humorous repartee, and head for numbers as a popular bookmaker. In the restaurant business most of his life, he opened the Blarney Castle in L.A., the Falcon Lounge in Santa Barbara and Salty Mo’s in Shell Beach, among many others. The youngest of four brothers, Edward was pre-deceased by his brothers and by Dora, his wife and companion for over 30 years. Of enormous sadness to him and the entire family were the very recent deaths of his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Joan Delmore of Arroyo Grande. He is survived by his children Susan Frascella of Santa Barbara, James Delmore (Linda) of Arroyo Grande, Stanley Delmore, of Placentia and Nanci Utley (Bob) of Dana, Indiana. In addition, he leaves a step-son, Eric Wilson (Lavon) of Lake Tahoe CA and former daughter-in-law, Bernadette Delmore of Shell Beach. Edward leaves 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and scores nephews, nieces, and long-time friends.

According to his wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to Hospice Partners of the Central Coast, 277 South Street, Suite R, San Luis Obispo CA 93401, 805 782 8608.
