Jeanette T. McLaughlin

Age 86. Born 1/8/1923 in Butte, MT. Passed on 8/4/2009 Seattle, WA. Jeanette or “Jay” as she was fondly known by friends and family, graduated from St. James School of Nursing in 1945. She met her future husband, Ralph H. McLaughlin in Butte, MT. at a college dance, and found each other again in Seattle after Ralph’s return as pilot for the Marines in WWII. After Ralph and Jay were married, raising children in Spokane, WA. and Redding, CA. They settled back in Seattle in 1960, raising their 6 children, later extended visits to Santa Barbara visiting daughters Jan and Connie.

Jay was an avid skier and swimmer, bridge player, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a long time member of St. Margaret’s, Our Lady of Fatima and St. Benedict’s Parish in Seattle. With and extended list of friends that also became family due to her diligence to keep in touch and bring people together. Jay will be remembered for her strong spirit and giving heart. She never gave up.

She is survived by brother Leonard Trueworthy(Peggy), Son’s Mark and Jeff, Daughter’s Jan, Sally(Mark Paulson) and Connie (Chad Cook). Jeanette’s Grandchildren are; Lisa McLaughlin, Alex McLaughlin-Paulson, Marshall Cabrales, and great grandchild Xavier McLaughlin. Jeanette is preceded in death by husband Ralph H. McLaughlin, daughter Mary B. McLaughlin, brothers Chuck(Alice) and Ed Trueworthy(Helen), sisters Margery(Howard) (Irwin) and Ruth (Ed)(Sylvain).

In lieu of flowers, donations are accepted in her name at Columbia Lutheran Home, address below. Memorial will be held at 1:00pm 8/15/2009.
