Ruth Basham Drain

Age 82, passed away peacefully April 4, 2010 in Edina, Minnesota. Preceded in death by first husband Edward Arthur Basham of Santa Barbara, daughter Holly Basham of Santa Barbara, and second husband Vincent Drain of Dallas, Tx. Survived by son Van (Teresa) Basham of Edina. Grandchildren Tara (Bill) Durham, Christopher Huitfeldt, Daurie & Arthur Basham, and great grandchild Blake Durham. Survived also by brother Jim Vandeveer (Betty) of Dallas and nieces Vicki and Cyndi and long time friend and helper Roy Kerr of Santa Barbara.

Ruth grew up in Cleveland, Ohio attended Jr college at Ogontz in Philadelphia then onto UCLA where she met husband Art. In 1976 Art lost his life to ALS. Ruth later married Vince and relocated to Dallas. Ruth was active in many charitable causes both in Santa Barbara and Dallas and was a member of Birnam Wood Golf Club, Valley Club, Coral Casino and the Petroleum Club.

Ruth dedicated her life with love and devotion to her family and they will cherish her memory always with gratitude and love. No Service. Memorials preferred to the American Diabetes Foundation.
