William James Valikonis
“Bill, Will, Wilbur” April 5th, 1972 – May 1st, 2010
Bill, Will, Wilbur Peacefully passed away on May 1, 2010, with his loving mother by his side. Bill was born to William and Susan Valikonis on April 5, 1972, in Brownsville, Texas. He lived in Santa Barbara for the last 20 years, he moved here from Steamboat Springs, Colorado where he grew up and went to school. Steamboat is where Bill gained his appreciation for nature and loved to camp with his family and friends. In Santa Barbara Bill worked as a vet-tech, where his love for animals was greatly appreciated by others in the community. Bill will forever be remembered for his passion of animals, nature, literature, news, politics, humanity, history, family and friends. He was an artist, poet and most of all a fan of music. Music was his real passion. He knew music, the history, the artist and how it all went together.
He was generous, funny, compassionate and kind to everyone and anyone he met. We are comforted in knowing that Bill is being met by his dad, William Michael Valikonis, his grandparents John and Nancy Hall and his cousin Nathan Hertzog. Will was always loved so much, in his final days he was surrounded by family and friends. We lost you far too early. We will miss your smile, your laugh, your sense of humor and your kindness. Enjoy The Journey! Bill is survived by his mother, Susan Valikonis and brother John Valikonis, both of Carpinteria, CA.
A memorial service will be held, May 15th at the Cate School Chapel in Carpinteria at 3pm followed by a celebration of life. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established at Santa Barbara Bank & Trust in William Valikonis’ name. It will be used to help others in similar situations, as well as a memorial site.
