Andrew J. Ladow
12/6/78 – 05/25/11
AJ was born and lived in Santa Barbara, California, and spent several years in Colorado. He was a brilliant musician and artist, especially talented in both the fine and industrial arts, as well as a gifted student of science and engineering. He is survived by his son Indigo, mother, Nancy Ladow, his former wife Rebekah, brother Dusty Schafer and his wife Paula, and long-time family friend Harry Mitchell, as well as an extensive network of friends and family, both by blood and by bond, who love him.
Among many other things, he will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor, and his unique gift for making even the most random stranger not only feel welcome, but as though they belonged. A pool shark, motorcycle lover, and raconteur, life was always on his terms. His heart was kind and open and his laugh could fill a room. The brightness with which he shone shall be the hole he leaves behind. He burned too brightly, and will be sorely missed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 18 at 11:00 am at Leadbetter Beach
In lieu of flowers, a fund has been set up for AJ’s son Indigo Ladow. Contact Nancy, or visit PayPal account fundforindigo@gmail.com
