Audrey Cram Thompson was born in Santa Barbara at Cottage Hospital. She was the daughter of Arthur Brittain Cram and Dorothy Fish Cram. She graduated from SBHS in 1943, attended UCLA, and graduated from UCSB in 1974 with a degree in Anthropology.

Audrey had a great love of books and literature and said that library work was the best job in the world. She was a technical librarian at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, worked at Lockheed Aircraft Corp. from 1952-57 and also at Litton Systems, Inc. She retired from the library at UCSB. In retirement, she worked part time at Jedlicka’s Saddlery and volunteered at the S.B. Public Library main branch.

Audrey was a very active horsewoman. She competed in many horse shows riding cutting horses. In the later part of her horse career she bred cutting horses and paint horses with her husband, Dudley Thompson.

In high school Audrey used to take her moon boat and sail by herself up and down the coast of Santa Barbara.

Audrey is survived by her son Scott Sheridan and predeceased by her husband J. Dudley Thompson in 2010.

Special thanks go to her wonderful caregivers and the compassionate support of Hospice of S.B.
