Betty Moore Lapp
06/30/1938 – 07/10/2012
Betty Moore Lapp’s spirit left her body peacefully on 7/10/12 at her home.
The daughter of Barton Lapp and Bertha Richardson. She attended the University of Arizona where she met and married Tim Moore her sophomore year. They had three children and moved around Southern California following Tim’s career.
They moved to Houston where they were divorced and Betty then attended the University of Caracas and transferred to Harvard to complete her post graduate work. She then moved back to Houston for private practice in the mental health field before moving back to her love, California.
Betty was a strong force of nature who lived on her own terms, a mysterious woman, happiest of people, and always present. Her interest in the universe never waned, her intellectual curiosity always had her discovering and researching things that caught her interest on the broadest scale. She was a pleasure to live and travel through the world with, her smile, spirit, and presence were the keys that opened people’s hearts and allowed you to have experiences you would never have on your own.
She was very grateful for her magical life and had a fearless heart. She always expressed how much she cared for those in her life and how grateful she was for those people. Betty worked in the mental health field for 28 years in SB County. She always treated everyone the same regardless of their challenges. She hoped everyone in life had the opportunity to find their bliss and be treated with compassion and respect.
She was thankful for the SB community, all the people in the medical field who face such difficult tasks everyday so gracefully, Hospice VNA caregiver John Roblaono, YMCA staff members, Vedanta Society of Southern California, friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers. Betty is survived by her ex-husband Tim Moore, daughters Nicole Moore and Shannon Hand, son Jeff Moore, her 5 grandchildren, soulmate of 28 years Eisenbarth, and cat Inspector Clouseau.
A memorial to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at Butterfly Beach next Thursday August 23 at 6:30pm
