Terry George Bliss
Terry George Bliss, a native Carpinterian, died peacefully at home. He was born in Santa Barbara, the first child of the late Marjorie Kenyon and George Ripley Bliss.
Terry is survived by his wife of 46 years Patricia Dillon Bliss; his daughter Chonnie Bliss Jacobson (Paul) and his granddaughters Lily Marjorie Jacobson and Emily Bliss Jacobson of Snowmass Village, Colorado; siblings Wendy Bliss MacMurray (Tim), Timothy Kenyon Bliss (Ginny); nieces Kristen and Megan MacMurray, Tory Bliss; nephews Jason MacMurray, Teddy Bliss; brothers-in-law John Forrest Dillon (Kristina) and Paul Francis Dillon (Kristi); nieces Anneli and Karalee Dillon; nephews Justin and Zachary Dillon; and Israel Torres.
Terry attended Carpinteria schools from kindergarten through high school and then UCSB where he was president of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Terry was an avocado rancher and owner of Carpinteria Motor Transport and Ownby Trucking.
Terry was one of a kind and one of the best; always a gentleman with a smile and a kind word. It is difficult to describe how much he meant to his family, his friends and his golfing pals who loved being with him, listening to his stories tinged with his wry sense of humor and sharing a glass of pinot noir.
Terry will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Terry requested no memorial service but contributions to Family Service Agency 123 West Gutierrez Street Santa Barbara 93101 are welcomed.
