Lindley Anderson Reetz
Lindley Anderson Reetz, 69, mother of Laura Rossini and Kelly Anderson, wife of Randy Reetz, passed away Friday August 29, 2014 after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. Beloved mother, sister, wife and friend. Lin as she was known, was the daughter of Clifford Muller and Ruth Lindley Muller. Clifford and Ruth both served their Country in World War II. Clifford as a pilot in the United States Army Air Corps and Ruth as a Women’s Airforce Service Pilot (“WASP”).
Lin as her parents did, loved aviation and loved to travel. She had travelled to six out of the seven continents of the world. She shared her love of travelling with her husband Randy and her children, Laura and Kelly. She also worked as a flight attendant for Pan Am and later United Airlines. Retiring from flying in 2002 after 31 years of service.
Lin’s love of travel probably stemmed from growing up with her brother Cliff while travelling the world with her father, a naval attaché. As a child, she lived in Japan, Morocco, and several places in Europe. She graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park and moved to California in the early 70’s. Living first in San Francisco, then Ventura and spending the last 37 years in Santa Barbara.
Lin was an extremely generous, caring, and selfless person. She volunteered at the Santa Barbara Public Library and could often be seen at the farmer’s market or Coffee Bean sharing an ice blended with her husband of 30 years. Lin was also an avid bridge player. The loss of her passing cannot be measured. She will be greatly missed by all of those who had the honor and pleasure of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the Santa Barbara Breast Cancer Resource Center or the Santa Barbara Foundation.
