Mary Ribet
On Thursday evening, September 6 2018, Mary Ribet, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at the age of 72 following a long battle with breast cancer.
Mary is lovingly remembered by her husband Butch of 50 years, and her three children, Michel (Krista), Burt (Celi), and David (Nicole). Mary is also fondly remembered by her seven grandchildren, Stephen, Robyn, Bethany, Desiree, Michel Jr., Allison, and Nathan.
Mary Ruth Pinkham was born December 17, 1945 in Durham, North Carolina where she lived until she moved with her husband to California in 1968 and settled in Goleta. Mary attended Croft Business College then worked as a bank teller and book-keeper, and later had her own book-keeping business.
Mary had a creative and loving spirit; she owned and ran Ribet’s Craft Center in Goleta for 2 decades and spent the better part of her life teaching classes in painting, jewelry making, and decorative arts to the community. An active member of Goleta Presbyterian Church, Mary has touched the lives of many.
For those who would like to join her family in celebrating Mary’s life, a memorial service will be held on Saturday September 15, at 2:00 in the afternoon at Goleta Presbyterian Church.
