William E. Jackson, DDS

Bill Jackson, (Doc), a native Santa Barbarian, journeyed to heaven peacefully in his sleep on January 3, 2019. He was 95. Son of Ralph and Elizabeth Jackson, preceded in death by late wives Patricia McAlister and Mary Dunn Jackson. Loving father to Janette (Jan) Jackson, Caroline Merrick, David Jackson, Bob Jackson and step-children Debbie Dunn, Bryan Dunn and Michael Dunn, grandfather to nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He loved his family very much.

As a veteran of the Air force, he returned to Santa Barbara to practice dentistry for many years. His hobbies included power boating, deep sea fishing, poker, collecting Model T cars, reading, growing cymbidium orchids and tomatoes, traveling the world with his wife Mary and countless friends, and entertaining family and friends at his beautiful home. He and Mary were members of the Santa Barbara Yacht Club, Los Fiesteros Dance Club, and Santa Barbara Elks. He enjoyed a large and active life to the fullest, and on his journey to heaven, skidded in sideways screaming, “Wow! What a ride!” Bill’s memory will remain in our hearts forever and we’re happy he is reunited with his wife of 50 years, Mary Jackson. Special thanks to Dr. Bruce McFadden for being an exceptional doctor and friend. A “Celebration of Life” will be held at a future date.
