Reza Salafian

Reza Salafian, age 63, of Esfahan, Iran passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, surrounded by his family in Santa Barbara, CA.

Agha Reza was born in Esfahan, Iran on June 7, 1956. He immigrated to the United States in 1973, proudly with just $600 in his pocket. Reza married his beloved wife, Maryam, in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 12, 1979 and they spent 40+ loving years together.

He graduated from Idaho State University and later from the University of Wyoming with a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering. He was dedicated to his work and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the family he made at FLIR Systems.

Agha Reza is preceded in death by his Baba Jan, Ebrahim, and Amoo Hassan, Amoo Hossein, and Amoo Mostafa. He is survived by his adored Mama Jan Malek; dear brothers Ali Reza, Mohammad Reza, and Mohsen; loving nephews Iman and Martin; devoted wife Maryam; cherished children, Kayvon, Kiana, and Kiarash; and secretly loved pugs, Lilly and Daisy. He truly was a beloved son, brother, Amoo, and Baba Jan to so many.”
