Julie Romero

Julie Marie Romero, 81, passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on Saturday, August 15th. A native of Santa Barbara, Julie is survived by her devoted husband Albert of 62 years, her sons David (Rhonda), Albert Jr. (Debbi), Robert and daughter Julie (Bob). She is Nannies to Eric, Alicia, Amanda, Daniel and Michelle and great-grandma to Jacob, Riley, Veronica and Skylar.

A caregiver by nature, Julie radiated love, compassion, kindness and enthusiasm to all of those around her. She was instrumental in raising many children within the family and out, giving her the loving nickname Auntie-Mom. Her legacy of love, generosity and patience beats in their hearts still. Julie had a beautiful soul and enormous heart and was most happy welcoming you into her home with a warm hug, an endless plate of food, and a sympathetic ear. Her infectious smile and sparkling eyes will shine on forever.

The family intends to hold a memorial for Julie next year when we can all come together again and celebrate the life of our beautiful mother. Julie was preceded in death by her father Edward Barrera, mother Betty Rodriquez, sisters Dolores and Bertha and brother Richard.
