Heather King Regester

Heather Regester, beloved wife of Roy Regester, and mother to Mark Regester of St. Louis and Fiona Gosney of Buellton, passed away December 6th at 73 years of age.

Heather hailed from Montrose, Scotland. She met Roy, a veteran of the U.S. Navy in 1970. They were married six months later and shared their lives together for the next fifty years.

While proud of her Scottish heritage, Heather adapted enthusiastically to American life. After moving to Goleta in 1975, she spent a few years as a teacher’s aid before moving into banking, starting as a teller and ending up as a loan specialist. She retired in 2015.

Heather was a talented knitter and lovingly shared her creations with family and friends, she was an avid reader, a selfless wife and mother who always made sure her family was taken care of. She adored her six grandchildren, and after her retirement “Granny” was able to devote more time to spoiling them. In recent years she joined Roy in volunteering at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum.

A celebration of her life will be scheduled sometime in the future.
