Sofia Rose Nagel

Our beloved Sofia Rose Nagel passed away on 12/5/20 with family by her side after valiantly battling melanoma. A beautiful, brilliant soul, Sofie attended Hope Elementary, La Colina, Carpinteria High, and Santa Barbara City College, where she wrote film reviews and interned at SBIFF.

After her initial diagnosis in 2016, Sofie returned to the city of her birth, Eugene, OR, to teach yoga and work with children with autism. A bright light to all who knew her, Sofie leaves behind her mother, Minerva Nagel, sister, Amy Boutell Krusenstjerna, and extended family. We invite you to pay your respects by leaving an offering at the altar her mother created at Butterfly Beach, at the last group of stairs.
