Catherine Durbiano

Catherine, a lifelong Goleta resident, passed away on June 27th at the age of 95. She was born August 20, 1925 in Goleta to Dominic E. and Angelina (Pignocco) Pomatto, Goleta ranchers since the early 1900s. Catherine attended Goleta Union School, La Cumbre Junior High and graduated in 1944, from Santa Barbara High School. She was employed with Goleta Union School District as a school secretary for 29 years, where she retired in 1988. After retiring, she spent her time traveling and doing volunteer work. Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Mike A. Durbiano Jr. in 1993. She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Casale (Peter), and Pamela Caballero. Also survived by her three grandchildren, Aaron Casale, Stacy Casale Olsen (Anders), and Segio Caballero (Deanna) and het two great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Shane Caballero. No services are planned. In lieu of flowers, donations to Food from the Heart or a charity of your own choosing would be appreciated.
