Mary Louise (Mary Lou) Romero

Our mother passed away peacefully on June 29, 2021, with her children by her side. She was born in Ventura and raised in Santa Barbara. She and her husband of 50 years owned and operated the Villarreal Market.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was a woman of strong faith, always happy, confident, and adventurous.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Miguel H. Romero and their son, James F. Romero. She is survived by her daughters Mary Louise “Maria” Romero and Sylvia Romero-Guzman and her son, Michael P. Romero (Alma); her grandchildren, Lia, Steve (Kimberly), Richard, Arturo, Andre and Amanda Romero, Gabriel and Adam Guzman; and her great grandchildren Mia, Dominic, Natalia, Gianna, Valentina and Elissandra.

Services were held at Our Lady of Sorrow Church. Arrangements made by Welch- Rice-Haider. Mom, we love you!
