Walter Stanley Barbere Jr.
Walter Stanley Barbere Jr. passed away suddenly at the age of 57 on Sept. 7, 2021 at his home in Peoria, Arizona. Walter was born in Santa Barbara on June 22, 1964, arriving as a birthday present for his father, Walter Sr., who shared the same birthday. He was raised in Santa Barbara and was an active member of the local Cub Scouts troop. He attended local schools, including Santa Barbara High School where he played on the Dons varsity football team. After graduating from SBHS in 1982, he went on to Bible college, became a licensed minister and served as a jail chaplain at the Santa Barbara County Jail. Walter was also a skilled musician and played marimba for Joy Christian Fellowship worship team.
After marrying Dolores Silguero and beginning a family, he and his family relocated to Arizona, where he became a pharmacy technician with CVS.
Though Walter was large in physical stature, he was a gentle man and his greatest loves were his family, especially his grandchildren and serving the Lord.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Dolores Barbere, father Walter Stanley Barbere Sr.; his five children, Renee Barbere, Vincent Barbere (Kayla), Renessa Guerrero, Anthony Guerrero, and Mark Guerrero. He is also survived by his sister Tracy Barbere and brother William Barbere (Lori) and numerous adored grandchildren, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, in-laws and cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Barbara Louise Barbere and beloved granddaughter Alanna Hope Barbere.
A celebration of Walter’s life will be held on October 16, 2021 at 10:00 am at Jubilee Christian Church at 7190 Hollister Ave. Masks are required.
