Maria Guadalupe Figueroa

Maria Guadalupe Figueroa died at the age of 87 in Santa Barbara on January 20, 2022. She was a resident of Santa Barbara for 68 years.

Maria, also known to many as Lupe, was born on December 13, 1934 in Concepción de Buenos Aires, Jalisco, Mexico. She met and married Daniel Figueroa and they had a loving and devoted marriage of 68 years. Together they raised four children.

During her lifetime Lupe loved to travel for family vacations to La Manzanilla de la Paz, Jalisco, Mexico. She shared her love of her homeland with her family and friends through the years. Lupe enjoyed listening and dancing to cumbias and mariachis. The best part of her was her genuine honesty and joyful spirit. This is how she lived her life. She cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren immensely.

Lupe was preceded in death by her son Richie Figueroa. She is survived by her husband Daniel Figueroa and their three children. Lilia Villa (Tony), Sylvia Piña (Mark) and David Figueroa. Her eight grandchildren, Cristal (Bard), Elena, Jason (Chelsea), Christina (Luke), Linda Flor (Bonifacio), Elizabeth, Celia and Monica. Her eleven great grandchildren, Daniel, Angelica, Isabel, Tyler, Raul, Antonio, Yassenia, Ezekiel, Ryden, Olivia and Santiago.

Funeral arrangements are with Welch-Ryce-Haider, Rosary on February 1, 2022 at 7:00 pm, 15 East Sola Street, Santa Barbara. Mass at Our Lady of Sorrow Church on February 2, 2022 at 10:00 am . Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Masks are required due to Covid.
