James Mark Cerda

James Mark Cerda passed away suddenly at Santa Barbara, Cottage Hospital on Dec 24th, 2021. James “Jim” was born in Chicago, IL on Sept 1, 1948.

He was predeceased in death by his mother Edna Grisham Marschany and his stepfather Admed Marschany. Jim spend a number of years in the army and received an honorable discharge in 1977 at Fort Greeley, Alaska. In the Army Jim was trained as a Medic and served in Vietnam and Germany.
Jim got his Master’s degree in Public Administration from Northridge University. That degree was one of his proudest accomplishments.
He is survived by former wife Carol Bond- Barney.

A Funeral Service will be held on February 8th, 2022 at McDermott-Crockett Mortuary Chapel, 2020 Chapala St., Santa Barbara at 1:00 PM. Burial will be on Feb 9th at Riverside National Cemetery.

Jim made many friends throughout his life and he will be greatly missed by all of them.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to a charity if your choice.
