Terrence Hughes

Date of Death

November 2, 2022

Terrence Hughes passed away unexpectedly on November 2, 2022, at the age of 49. He was born and raised on the Eastside of Santa Barbara, CA. He attended Franklin and Cleveland elementary schools, Santa Barbara Jr. High, Santa Barbara High School, and Santa Barbara City College where he played both basketball and football.

He was a loving husband to his wife, Brooke, and a best friend to many. Known to everyone as “Tee” or “Uncle Tee”, he enjoyed BBQing and spending time with his friends and family, dancing, riding his bicycle and motorcycle around town and of course attending the football games of his beloved 49ers.

Terrence was a lover of life, he always had a smile on his face, his love language was cracking jokes about you or with you; there was never a dull moment with him. His laugh was contagious, and he had the ability to make anyone feel welcome with his big hugs and big heart.

Terrence will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him, but his spirit will no doubt live on in this town that has been home for his entire life.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather Douglas Richardson, grandmother Mary L. Hughes and his grandfather Willie D. Hughes.

He is survived by his wife, Brooke Hughes, his mother Virginia Hughes, his father Dennis “Ray” Hughes, grandmother Patty Sue Richardson, brother Shawn Hughes (Samantha), sister Taishoree Hughes (Octavio), nephew Kameron Avila, nieces Nevaeh Hughes, Kendall Avila and Samaria Hughes as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Because Terrence was so well known, the family has opted to hold a private funeral service for close family and friends on Thursday, November 17th.

The family appreciates the outpouring of love and support they have received, should you wish to donate, a Go Fund Me page has been set up in his name.
