Jacqueline M. Ericson
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jacqueline (Jackie) Mae Ericson on April 1, 2025. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Jackie was a wonderful wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, neighbor and friend.
Jackie and her husband, Roy, moved to Santa Barbara 61 years ago with their son, Scott and their daughter, Kristie.
Jackie worked at the exclusive Santa Barbara Club, making many friends while there, with those friendships lasting throughout her lifetime. Jackie also enjoyed catering for many years around town. She often heard the request, “Oh, please make your cheese puffs.”
Jackie and Roy became members of the Elks Lodge here in Santa Barbara. She enjoyed volunteering for many events, including the monthly spaghetti dinners, greeting members with a smile.
Jackie and Roy also became active members with the Elks Caravaneers, traveling to various destinations in their 5th wheel with many friends. A lot of fun and fellowship was experienced on those trips. After Roy’s passing, Jackie purchased a motorhome and continued her travels with many existing friends. Jackie also was a member of The Native Daughters of the Golden West Tierra de Oro.
In short, Jackie loved her family deeply, made many cherished friends, and was always ready and willing to help wherever she was needed. Her family and friends will carry forward many happy and humorous memories that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Jackie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy, her sister Bobbie and nephew Steve. She is survived by her son Scott (Cheryl), her daughter Kristie Sanchez (Danny). Also survived by grandchildren Larissa Sichley (Jeremy), Justin Ericson, Andrew Sanchez, Kimberly Sanchez and her great-grandchildren, Aden, Maia and Luke Ratliff. Jackie is also survived by her nieces, Laura Jespersen and Karen Walker.
A private celebration of life has been held. Donations in her name may be made to the SB Humane Society, VNA Hospice of Santa Barbara or a charity of choice.
Jackie will be missed immensely, and we will forever cherish many, many fun and happy memories.
